I should have read the reviews first, but I’ve always had good experiences at KOAs and assumed this one would meet the same high standards. Unfortunately, I was wrong. In hindsight, the 2- and 3-star reviews were generous, given the reality. First, a woman called me before our arrival to say she was moving us to a different site to save us $6. That sounded fine at first, but when we arrived at our gravel site, I noticed it wasn’t the concrete slab I had reserved. When I asked about it, I was told their concrete sites don’t accommodate 30-amp setups—only 50-amp. I explained I had a 50-amp adapter, but they claimed none of their sites allowed adapters. I’ve never heard of anything like that before—it’s absolutely ridiculous. I guess that’s where my $6 “savings” came into play. Once we got to our site, the problems kept piling up. The air reeked of marijuana from the moment we arrived. This is not a family-friendly environment, and we were uncomfortable with our minor child being exposed to second-hand smoke. Most of the campers at this KOA seem to live there full-time. It’s clear their RVs haven’t moved in a long time. The entire place feels run-down, with old picnic tables tossed into corners. Our table was filthy—I wouldn’t even sit at it, let alone eat there. This KOA is a far cry from the standards I’ve come to expect, and corporate should consider removing its name from this location. The WiFi didn’t work at all. When I called about it, the man on the line said it “does that sometimes,” allegedly rebooted the router, and told me to wait 20 minutes. That didn’t solve anything. The cable was awful—one moment we had 8 channels, and the next, none. I ended up having to tether my cell phone to stream TV. Noise from the interstate was unbearable. I’ve stayed at plenty of places near highways, so I’m used to some background noise, but this was extreme. I couldn’t sleep at all the first night, and on the second night, I had to wear earplugs. Lastly, the staff were hit or miss. Cindy and Rob were unfriendly and rude, but there was a younger couple working another shift who were polite and helpful. They were the only bright spot in this entire experience. I strongly recommend staying far away from this KOA. It’s not worth the hassle or the disappointment.

I reserved a camping spot for my boyfriend and I. He has a truck with a pop up tent on the bed. One woman, very nice, called about half an hour after the booking just to clarify exactly what we had. She said the campsite we reserved was for a tent with electricity; and they did not have a campsite like that. They had a campsite for a tent without electric. We were ok with that. Three hours later, another woman, ruder than the last, called and said she would have to uncharged us to move us. I told her to just leave the reservation but she wouldn't. "This spot is for an automobile, pickup trucks cannot go down there" she stated. I assured her that the pop up tent doesn't take up that much space. We could camp in the parking lot if we had to. She was not having it. I didn't know until the next morning, they charged my card another $15 leading to the grand total of $53. So if you want a very rude lady on the phone, a woman's bathroom with 6 stalls and only 1 working, religious music blaring while you shower and listening to the highway, they will absolutely take you.

Very pretty and quiet. The hosts were very nice. We did have ice cream. Blue bell brand. We did not use any of the facilities so we can't comment on them. About one to one and a half miles off of 40

So when we first arrived I walked into front door said hello and the two women behind counter did not say a word back. I then said it again and my wife was surprised they said nothing. No greeting what so ever. After a quick check in we were taken to a gravel spot ( not mentioned on line) with a bit of a slope. Anyway for the night we dealt with it. The next morning prior to leaving we decided to use restroom. So we drove around to bathroom and parked because there are NOT “no parking” signs. After a short stop to use restroom the manager was attempting to hurry us off out of the way. This is at 7:50 in the morning and there was no reason for us to feel pushed out. Bathrooms clean but a bit small. I gave a 3 because this staff here at this KOA is not friendly AT ALL like other staff members at most other KOA’s. I expected friendly people especially when they play Christian music in the background in office and in bathroom area.

Not a good experience. Checked in after 9 pm so met no staff. Site not level. No power on 30 amp circuit so had only the 20 as a last resort. That meant no AC to drown out the highway noise. Called night call number but got only voicemail. Zero follow through. This was a last available option so we had to take it. Place is run down. Pool was green. Won’t be back. Would rather drive another hour or two. I’d ask for a refund but it looks like they need $66 more than I do.
